Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs
The following programs within the University of Pittsburgh are in place to give Pitt Business students the real-world experience and support they need in order to become successful entrepreneurs.
The Blast Furnace is a student accelerator which provides access to deep mentor networks, inspirational co-working space, and a rich curriculum for student startups to prepare them to create and grow their business.
The annual Randall Family Big Idea event is an entrepreneurial idea competition in which finalists present to a panel of expert judges along with Pitt students, faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, investors, and program sponsors. The goal of the competition is to showcase and support the growing innovation network at Pitt.
This is an entrepreneurial event where students come together to form teams around their ideas, and are put through an intensive development process ending with final presentations and prizes awarded by judges. Experienced students, faculty, and entrepreneurs are in attendance to help the students.
