The Pitt Business Career Development Conference is the most attended event of the year with nearly 90 companies recruiting more than 900 Pitt Business students at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
Our students headed #ToTheCity to network with the phenomenal lineup of companies, including Amazon, ALDI., American Eagle Outfitters, BNY Mellon, Deloitte, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Eaton, Grant Thornton, Hershey, KPMG, PNC, PwC, PPG, and UPMC.
“The Pitt Business Career Conference helps students connect with industry leaders, alumni, and recruiters in a personal way,” says Anthony Rodi, Interim Associate Dean of Pitt Business. “Through our long-standing partnerships with top employers in Pittsburgh and worldwide, we’re able to take our students from the classroom, directly to the city.”
The conference kicked off with over 15 industry panel sessions covering all areas of business. Panelists included Pitt Business alumni, executives, managers, and recruiters from the conference’s participating companies. Students listened to industry leaders share experiences and valuable advice — how they got to where they are and what opportunities are available at Pitt Business.
Students then participated in a networking lunch with recruiters, featuring Tim Knavish, Senior Vice President at PPG. He encouraged students to seek out opportunities and to “be bold” moving forward in their careers.
The largest business-student specific career fair in the Pittsburgh region finished off the day.
“Year after year, Pitt Business students leave the career development conference in a better place professionally,” Rodi says. “Enabling our students to make personal and professional connections with industry leaders is so important to securing potential interviews, and even future job and internship offers.”
This annual event is a reason why Pitt Business ranks #2 best public business program in “Getting Grads the Jobs They Want” by Poets and Quants. To learn more about how we take our students From the Classroom, To the City, To the World, check out our career development section of our website.
