**Student Registration is not required for the Pitt Business Spring Commencement Ceremony.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The ceremony begins at 11 AM (doors open at 10 AM).
  • This is an unlimited ticketed event. No tickets will be given out.
  • Guest seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • The ceremony should last approximately 2 hours.
  • Students will be individually recognized as they walk in front of the stage at the ceremony.

  • All graduates should refrain from bringing bags, backpacks, or purses with them to the ceremony as they might not return to the same seat after crossing the stage
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: The Clear Bag Policy set forth by the Petersen Events Center will be in effect

  • Concessions will be available for purchase at the Petersen Events Center. Offerings will include fruit, juice, coffee, water, Celsius, and breakfast pastries. Open concession stands will be located inside of the Main Guest Entrance.

Graduate Check-in Instructions:

  • Once the graduate arrives, they should check in at the registration area.
  • Graduates will also receive their name card (for name announced during the ceremony).
    • Do Not Lose This Card!
  • Graduates will then proceed to the Student line-up area.  No guests are allowed in this area.

Graduates are to arrive with their regalia and academic hood on. (Regalia is required for the ceremony.)

  • This is an academic ceremony and, as such, academic regalia is required to participate in the ceremony.
  • Only those students in full academic regalia (cap, gown, and hood) will be permitted to participate. The only exception will be for those graduates in military uniform.
  • Regalia can be ordered through the University Store on Fifth beginning on March 2. Regalia can be ordered online for in-store pickup March 2 through April 17. All orders after April 17 must be placed in-person at the University Store on Fifth.

  • GradImages, an external photography service, will take photos of all students as part of the procession to the stage. These photographs can be purchased directly from GradImages following the ceremony.  gradimages.com
  • If you pre-register your contact information using this link, you will receive a coupon code for 20% off an order of $50 or more.? 

For your convenience, Commencement Flowers is on-site before and after the ceremony if you would like to purchase flowers for your graduate. The company carries top-of-the-line quality, fresh-cut flowers, with a large variety of colors and sizes. 

Yes, all of the Pitt Business December 2025 graduates are invited to the Spring 2026 ceremony. You are automatically included in this list. Please continue to check your Pitt email for any updates.

  • Please check your Pitt email for a personalized link from Name Coach that will allow you to provide a recording and phonetic spelling to assist the name readers in correctly pronouncing your name as you are recognized on stage.
