Position: Pitt Business Student Ambassador for 2019-2020

We are seeking student ambassadors to represent Pitt Business through recruitment activities with prospective students.  The position also involves interaction with alumni and friends of the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with prospective families to discuss Pitt Business programs, services, and advantages, as well as presenting your experiences as a business student at Pitt.
  • Speaking at admissions programs about your experiences and answering questions.
  • Corresponding with prospective students via email, phone, and social media as needed.
  • Representing Pitt Business at events with business alumni and friends of the school.
  • Providing tours of Pitt Business facilities, such as Sennott Square classrooms, the Tafel Center for Student Success, and the Financial Analysis Laboratory in Mervis Hall.

Compensation: Is a paid opportunity.  Admissions Office will provide more details.

Hours: Part-time, approximately 3-5 hours a week, but will vary. Must be able to work Saturday campus admissions programs several times in fall and spring semesters.

Qualifications: Seeking dynamic, reliable candidates with strong interpersonal skills, comfort with public speaking, and a willingness to engage with prospective students. Students must be full-time in the BSBA program and have at least sophomore standing to apply. A GPA of 3.00 or higher is preferred, but others will be considered. Students with any business major may apply. Previous internship, global experiences, and business student organization experience is highly desirable.

In addition, to qualify for the position, you must be able to:

  • Work on Monday, Thursday, or Friday from 1:15-2:30 p.m. (one or more).  This is when Pitt Business holds its daily information sessions for prospective students.
  • Be able to attend several Saturday admissions programs in both Fall and Spring semesters.  We will work around your class schedule for programs on weekdays.
  • Work for both semesters of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Application Process: Complete and submit the attached application to the College of Business Administration Admissions Office, 2100 Sennott Square, by 5:00 on Monday, September 9, 2019.   Based on our review of the applications, several students will be selected to interview for the position. All of the applicants will be notified of their status through email by Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
