For the sixth year in a row, the Pitt Business undergraduate program is ranked among the top 15 public business schools in the U.S. by Poets&Quants, a leading website for business education programs.
In the 2023 Poets&Quants Best Undergraduate Business Schools ranking, released March 1, 2023, Pitt is ranked No. 12 among public institutions and No. 30 among all business schools. Pitt is also named the No. 1 public business school in Pennsylvania for the sixth straight year.
Admissions, Experience, Careers
This national ranking is based on school and alumni surveys related to three broad components: Admissions Standards (the quality and diversity of students enrolling in a program); Student Experience (the ability of each business school to nurture, challenge, and develop the students’ minds); and Career Outcomes (how the market and world’s top employers respond to graduates).
“This is an exciting time for our undergraduate programs with new records in applications, student qualifications, and student outcomes,” says Lawrence Feick, interim associate dean. “Our success is a direct result of the efforts of our entire community — our alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Thank you to everyone for their continuing efforts that have made us a premier undergraduate business program.”
For the 2021–22 school year, there was a record-high 4.18 average GPA for incoming students. Of graduates, 96 percent were placed in their first choice of company or graduate school, earning on average $64,000 — a new high as well. Applications for the Fall 2022 class were nearly 80 percent higher than last year.
